sports
Ask about indoor soccer, floor hockey, water polo, skiing or lap swimming. I've got opinions on them all, and have organized teams for several of them. What do they have to do with design? Well, anything that gets you gets you out of the office, running as fast as you can run, has GOT to be good for design. At the very least, it keeps keyboarding overuse injuries at bay.

Dad
I am sad to note the death in December 2002 of my dad James N. Christianson ("Jim"). He will be remembered for his passions for skiing, gathering morel mushrooms (by the bushel one memorable year!) and singing pithy camp tunes. Some of his many accomplishments are noted in a Detroit Free Press obituary, (December 7, 2002). A compilation of the letters he wrote home during WWII can be found at Letters Home.

watershed signs
Christianson Design recently received the assignment of creating 10 large permanent signs for use at key spots in the Huron River Watershed. Each of the educational signs feature a map of the watershed, as well as an inset map showing the viewer's location. The signs were unveiled at a celebration in October for the Adopt-A-Stream program, a community effort which has been key in tracking river and stream conditions. Below is the unveiling of the sign for Chelsea's Veterans Park. More here.
